LISTEN ON: APPLE PODCASTS | SPOTIFY | YOUTUBE
Affordability is a loaded subject in today’s economy. If you’re worried about being able to pay your bills, or how you’re ever going to make enough, listen up. There’s a better way.
You can create your own reality and financial future for yourself and your family. The answer? Online business, of course. Take it from someone who’s gone from struggling with literal cents in her bank account, to building multiple successful brands – if I can do it, so can you.
Listen in to the Self Paid Club podcast episode 010: 10 Online Business Ideas You Could Start Today to explore multiple new options, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced entrepreneur.
1. Online Courses
The coaching industry is my all-time FAVORITE in the online space because of how much opportunity there is, and the low barrier to entry. You can create a digital course on literally anything, which means you don’t need any special skills for this.
You only need to be good at one thing, put it into a curriculum, create the course once and sell it an unlimited number of times. No trading your time for money.

2. Guides, Templates and Worksheets
Simpler than digital course creation is putting together downloadable guides, templates or worksheets. These digital product ideas are primarily text-based ways of sharing your expertise.
3. 1:1 or Group Sessions
These can be private coaching sessions or group classes held via a place such as Zoom. Think coaching calls, live specialty classes or Q&A sessions.
4. Planners and Calendars
You might decide to offer standard plans, schedules or calendars in your niche (such as workout plans, meal planning, event planning, etc.). To go deeper with this, you could also offer personalized plans that are customized to each individual who purchases.
5. Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing is when you promote a product or service offered by a different brand or company, and when someone signs up using your unique link or code, that brand or company will pay you a commission.
This may also be referred to as digital marketing, which has been taking the internet by storm as of late.
This business model is a great one to run on the side, or to get your foot in the door when you’re first starting out in the business space, but I wouldn’t recommend solely relying on this as your only income source. Creating your own offers is always a better option because then you’re not relying on another person to stay in business in order to continue making money.
6. Influencer Marketing
With influencer marketing, content creators can team up with brands, who will offer free products or services, as well as compensation, in exchange for public recommendations and user generated content.
Influencers can be found in any industry, with audiences of any size. Micro influencers have a smaller number of followers, but can still make a full time income. If your audience is only made up of 1,000 people, for example, you can still capitalize on brand collaborations as you grow your follower count and engagement rate.
7. Freelance Services
Offering services such as web design, copywriting, logo creation, or other sought-after skills can be done on a website such as Fiverr. Fiverr is the world’s largest freelance marketplace, where other business owners and companies connect with professionals for their respective services.
8. Social Media Management
With the mass amount of social media users nowadays, and the expectation for every brand to maintain a social media presence, social media managers are always in high demand. This might involve creating content for their accounts, designing graphics, creating videos, writing engaging captions, scheduling posts ahead of time, answering comments or DMs, or similar tasks.
9. Virtual Assistance
Somewhat similar to freelancers, virtual assistants help other people free up their time by completing necessary tasks on a day-to-day basis. Generally, you would be working with clients over the longer term, rather than one-off projects that you’d get as a freelance worker. You might offer your virtual assistance services on a platform such as Upwork.
10. Print on Demand
Print on demand is a business model that allows you to create your very own eCommerce brand of clothing, accessories or home décor. It’s a form of white label dropshipping, meaning you create designs that will get printed on pre-made products (think t-shirts, mugs, etc.), and every time you make a sale, your supplier will print your design on the item and ship it directly to your customer’s doorstep. There’s nothing you need to do when you receive an order, so you can focus on coming up with new bestselling designs.
BONUS – 11. Coaching Membership
With a coaching membership, you can charge clients a monthly membership fee in exchange for your services, products or expertise. This is a bonus business idea because you can technically combine a number of the other options we discussed above into this one.
For example, you might charge a monthly fee for access to your online courses, four 1:1 calls throughout the month, and downloadable worksheets to help your students implement what they’re learning.
Remember, anything is possible. You just have to get a little brave.
